I am continually impressed by the ability of large institutions to shoot themselves in the dick when handling these situations. Just the photo is an incredible own goal; everything after it is inexplicable.

I’d like to think I am correcting him...because he is wrong and what he has been through doesn’t change that. He has a tremendous platform most survivors…
I am super uncomfortable with his assertation that there is a financial “upside” to victimization. Between that and his constant wriggling refusal to name names for vague financial reasons, I feel like it casts a lot of doubt over his intentions here, and potentially makes it even easier for his detractors to ignore…

He served his time. Regardless of how others feel about his actions, he should be allowed to get on with whatever part of his life he can.
I think the part that rankles here is that he used football and his status in the initial case to try to squirm free of consequences. When it’s clearly part of the weapons he used against the girl and her advocates, I think it’s not just the privilege to move on we’re talking about.
Maybe two years? Is that enough to time start wars with Iran and China (and Mexico and Australia and...)?
