My dad's uncle committed suicide back in the 60's. Fought in WWII and came back even more badly depressed than he went in. (go figure). Obviously I don't know if he had bipolar like I do or just depression but it is definitely a family thing. My grandmother didn't talk about him but on one occasion we came across a

I quit a job of 15 years because it was making me suicidal. Best step I ever took because I did not work for an understanding company. I take my medication and work a much lower stress job where they do care about me. You do what you need to and take care of yourself.

There are people who only water wash their hair. Takes a lot of adjusting on the part of your scalp and cold water works best. I have never been tempted to try it. In the winter when things are super dry I wash my hair with conditioner. I also have long, straight, fine hair. I can go about two weeks of every

I realize now that the poor hairdresser's heart must have fallen into her shoes when I walked in and demanded a spiral perm. I had mid-back length hair and a ton of it. Many(many, many) hours later and I had HAIR. My brother took once look and told me I looked like Roseanne Roseanna Danna. Ah, the early 90's.

Oh god. I hope you're not talking about me.

Worst Carl Hiaasen novel ever.

I'm so accident prone that it would take me days to remember and record all of my ridiculous injuries. I have been left with torn ligaments, burns, bruises, severely sprained digits, a broken toe and an embarrassing number of concussions. Years ago I was jumping into my very low to the ground car. I didn't drop

I lived in an apartment complex where the maintenance guy was letting himself into my apartment. Once while I was there. With another guy in tow to whom he was "showing the apartment". I wasn't moving out and the guy he had with him appeared horrified that he had just been dragged into an occupied apartment. I had

Dear god yes. Could everyone just watch the damned movie and get the actual context? As an old movie buff I become enraged every year when this dumb argument comes up.

I did back in '96. We were married for 11 tumultuous years. It happens.

My grandparents gave me that flower maker when I was about seven. My mom immediately put it away on the highest shelf in the house and I never saw it again. My mom was so responsible.

This guy sounds like a total jerkface and I love Civil War history. Off to Amazon!

My comment naming this book is stuck down in the grays. Glad to see I'm not the only one who hated this nightmare inducer.

The Velveteen fucking Rabbit. I'm 46 years old and still traumatized by that damned book. For some reason my mom thought I would find it comforting.

Didn't work for me and the person in question had actually died.(Husband. Suicide.) I was literally crying on the phone while telling some bill collector that my husband was not available, due to being dead. Guy continued to demand to speak to him. This guy called me for weeks and I wish him a hearty case of leprosy.

Would never have thought she was still around. This book is in my bookcase and I haven't read it in a number of years. Guess I had better go dust it off and read it again. RIP Ms. Kaufman.

L.p.

This. I manage a liquor store(the owner is also a woman) and some of the nonsense they try marketing at "the girls" makes me see red. I get asked for suggestions as to what women would drink and always tell them, "well in my drinking days I liked beer and whiskey but I'm guessing you have Mike's lemonade in mind."

Golly I hated that book. Fifth grade in 1978. Amazing how some things never change.
