I always remember Meredith’s fake texts from Bill ending with “PS: Eric is evil.” Those always made me cackle with laughter.

The internet archive (archive.org) also has a large collection of MS-Dos games in their software collection.
I wish I could forget the mustache backstory.
Death on the Nile wasn’t just equally as boring/bad as Orient Express. It was way worse. It was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen in terms of plot construction and direction. My mother is a very uncritical consumer of pop culture—she likes everything and says everything is “good.” Even she finished Death on the…
I am would love to see a study on the effectiveness of studying with your own notes vs. the AI generated notes. One of the things that makes note-taking so effective as a study aid is the process of synthesis that you undertake when you write notes. The process of reading or listening to information, internalizing it,…
I don’t think people have a problem with needing to see season one in order to get season two of a show. I think the issue with Marvel is that they tend to pull in characters and storylines from completely different shows and movies. Like, if you didn’t watch WandaVision, would you get any of the Scarlet Witch stuff…
The scenes where Jason and Andy team up are always hilarious. Ryan Kwanten sold that character like few actors could.
I will eat you, after I eat your children.
The i09 recaps are pure gold. And I probably re-watch True Blood every other year or so, but I only do it if I can also read Meredith Woerner’s pro/cons along with it.
Also an acceptable apology.
That stuck out to me as a really telling detail, too. Like, damn. Dozens of people had the chance to defend you or at least say something mildly neutral, and they were all like, “Nah, I’ll pass.” Ouch.
And the “I’m sorry if” isn’t even about the complaints that people raised in the article. “I’m sorry if I embarrassed your family and friends?” Huh? How about: I’m sorry I made you, the people who work for me, feel unimportant or belittled. I’m sorry I made this workplace a stressful place to be. I’m sorry that I…
Both of these things popped into my head (and I’m a woman). Also a concern for women: Will my kids’ car seats fit in this car? Those things can be huge, and it’s a pain to maneuver a kid in and out the seat in a small car. To my knowledge, there isn’t an electric minivan yet.
Touche. I applaud your efforts (and miss corrections).
Do you really think that the writers aren’t in on the joke re: Surprise Inspection? That bit is not in the least bit mean spirited.
The Rolling Stone piece mentions that when Fallon jumped from Late Night to The Tonight Show, showrunner Mike Shoemaker (Mikey the Shoe!) declined to join him and instead stayed with Meyers. I think that tells you a lot about the dynamics of working for Fallon vs. Meyers.
If I ever hear anything bad about working for Seth Meyers, I don’t know what I’ll do. He seems like a genuinely good person and boss (and I think it’s telling that in the Rolling Stone piece on Fallon, they note that Fallon’s Late Night showrunner—Mikey the Shoe!—chose to stay there and work with Meyers rather than…
I’m sort of in the same boat. I did vegetarian for about a year once, but found I was happier with a bit more balance. So I switched to Mediterranean/plant based with occasional meat and that was great for me. I make a bit more meat now that I’m cooking for my parents (picky dad) as well. But I’m slowly pulling them…
I don’t know if I’m fully on board with communal living (although I’m in an inter-generational living situation right now and there are definitely paralells). But a group of my friends and I all got remote jobs during the pandemic and we joke that we’ve adopted the practice of “visiting parties” like we’re in an…
Yeah around $800 seems to be realistic in my area, too. One thing that stands out to me, especially in light of the author mentioning that you can ask how many rides it has had, is that all of the used Peloton listings in my area seem to say some variation of “Bought it in early 2021, only ridden ten times.” So I’m…
