I’m sort of similarly stumped about where the show goes from here, but I also don’t care. 10/10 will watch. I hope Horgan has something really good up her sleeve.

Agreed! If I were a voter, I honestly don’t know how I would choose.

I miss this, too. My local McDonalds used to have breakfast until 4 p.m. Then they stopped serving it at noon. Now it’s back to the traditional 10:30 a.m. cutoff time. Boo. Sucks. The breakfast food is the only thing I like at McDonalds (the pastries were trash, tho), but I really only got the chance to eat it at

I knew you would have seen Bad Sisters! I keep raving about how awesome it is, and none of my friends will take a flyer on it. It’s so, so good and Sharon Horgan is amazing in it. The whole cast is stellar, and it went largely unnoticed over on Apple, which quietly pulls together some incredible stuff (Paul Walter

I disagree, but reasonable people can do that. To me, there were real weaknesses in S2 that weren’t evident in S1, most notably in Tanya’s arc, but also with the two couples vacationing together. In season 1, the characters had more depth and greater pathos. I thought the plots involving the Italians were well done in

True, but I do think the thinness of the story affected the actors’ abilities to deliver great performances. In essence, they didn’t necessarily have enough to work with to earn a nomination, in my opinion. Not their fault, just how it shook out to me.

Some early thoughts:

Definitely coasting on reputation rather than the product for season 3. Looking at the categories it’s nominated in, I don’t expect it to win much. The most worthy nomination is Phil Dunster.

At least Succession earned it with a stellar final season. White Lotus was a significant drop off in storytelling and it still got nominations out the wazoo.

I’m just going to start calling this the White Lotus problem. That show is so over-nominated. That show’s second season was not worthy of five supporting actress nominations. I’d say two at most, and then I would go for Sabrina Impacciatore and Haley Lu Richardson (who wasn’t even nominated), over Coolidge, Fahey, and

Exactly. I enjoy the teaching part of my job. But the committee meetings? The constant revising of meaningless assessment standards? I could leave all that behind in a heartbeat and be 100% happier in my profession. The tone of this article is weird, particularly since it then turns around and congratulates Emily

I can’t see anywhere where Daniel Craig says he doesn’t like the concept of wills. I see an interview where he says he doesn’t plan to leave his children with big inheritances, but that’s an entirely different animal. He may plan to spend his money before he passes, but I would bet good money he’s got a will that says

KitchenAid makes some good stuff, but I probably wouldn’t buy an old-style can opener even for $8. Those things get so dirty because the blade actually goes into the can and its contents. I doubt most people clean them well enough or often enough. Sure, lots of people run it under some water or get the obvious stuff

My sister and I call it “Stupid People who Bought a Restaurant and Have no Idea what They’re Doing.”

Yeah, there’s no way this is a good deal or good wine. Most of the time, people would be better off cultivating a relationship with their local wine seller. The owner of my local wine store is great—enthusiastic about wines, eager to share his knowledge—and he’s willing to work within anyone’s budget. I’ll often go

Eh, I know a lot of people liked it, so to each their own. I thought some of the guest starts chewed the scenery a bit. For my money, it was a bit bloated.

It was my least favorite episode of the season, tbh. I get what it was trying to do, but it was very “Uncut Gems” to me, and not in a good way. I think the Fishes episode could have worked if they had maybe not supersized it so much. If it were 40 minutes instead of 60+, I think they could have pulled it off.

This one is perhaps the least egregious and most traditional design at first glance, but even this one screams “I was designed by someone who doesn’t understand boobs.” How did they make a top with what looks like an underwire, and still have so much underboob showing? For shame.

I kind of thought this, too, but then it became clear to me that this list wasn’t taking into account actors who had made their directing bones on TV shows. Bateman should definitely be getting opportunities to direct more and better feature films. His two film directorial efforts up to now--The Family Fang and Bad

My main takeaway from the last season of Barry, fully directed by Hader, was that every studio should be backing up a Brinks truck full of money into his driveway to get him to direct a feature film. I hope he’s fielding offers left and right, and I hope he picks something really interesting for his first feature.
