Yeah, the “both-sidesing” of this doesn’t work.

The VehiCROSS is probably my favorite here and I really wish someone would try an offroad sport coupe like this again.

Even a bastardized Tucker is worth something, so I’d go higher than that. I wouldn’t value this higher than a decent, verified original, though.

There’s little evidence Tucker was working on a convertible. They were too busy just trying to survive long enough to get cars out the door.

If I had $2.4 million I’d be tempted, honestly, but I don’t think it’s worth anywhere near that much.

I don’t think Amtrak runs there, though, and it appears this scheme depends on using Amtrak facilities off-hours.

Yeah, $12.5k is worth it for the sheer novelty. And it does seem in decent shape.

So, the downtown-to-downtown argument might apply here, except that it wouldn’t go all the way to downtown SF, so where would people actually board this?

Yeah, they carried that element into Gen 2, too.

Yeah, it’s not a terribly attractive car. I’ll agree with you there.

EVs have CONSIDERABLY more battery management in place.

“easily 40+ MPG on the highway if you don’t drive like an asshole.”

Tesla makes money. Stellantis claims EVs are profitable for them, too.

The BRIDGE’s insurance won’t be an issue so much as that of the ship’s owner.

I’m guessing there is going to be a massive effort to clear a shipping channel. That wreckage looks horrible but I think there’s a chance to clear away at least a single channel relatively quickly

I’m pushing 60. I need to stop more often than that anyway.

I love these goddamn things and I refuse to apologize. I would totally do this for $4,600. NP.

Ahhh, the “none of this makes any difference anyway so why bother?” fallacy. Brings back memories...

Really, the only reason anyone would have trouble with an EV on a road trip now is because they’re traveling in an area with insufficient charging infrastructure. I don’t mean for that to sound dismissive, because there are huge regions of North America where that’s a reality right now and it’s going to remain that

Yeah, if we could only figure out how to stop them from emitting carbon...
