I long believed the idea of any kind of artificial noise was seriously dumb. And then I actually bought an EV.

I personally wouldn’t touch this with a 10' pole, but to me the question here has always been “Is this a good price?” not “Would I actually want this?”

I really liked Acura in those early years, and that Legend Coupe was one of Honda’s most elegant designs. Loved that one.

I hear you, but there’s a difference between “Nice price?” and “Would YOU buy it?”

Assuming this passes inspection, NP for sure. If a dealer is selling this truck at this price it makes me wonder if maybe somebody died in it...

The Ford/Packard thing is bogus (but sounds good). The NoVa thing is bogus (but again, sounds good).

Holy crap, when did GM finally hire decent interior designers?

I know that aviation industry pundits have been eulogizing the A380 for the past few years (and yes, I know Airbus has finished production), BUT...

Sure, but you won’t find a decent example of a GTO convertible for under $50k

I wouldn’t even feel too guilty about doing an EV conversion on this...

I’d do this in a heartbeat even for $15k. Nice car, nice price.

OTOH, the ‘73 and up LTD (and Grand Marquis, for that matter) developed some serious, blobby bloat. This one looks much better than its successors.

First thought: It’s cool that Toyota is bringing back the Crown nameplate to North America, and the Avalon had pretty much outstayed its welcome... cool!

Yeah, Walter’s Aztec was a shit car, but that was entirely the point. It was great car casting.

Yeah, the actual structure seems pretty sound, and even if it isn’t it’s simple and easy to refurb. This isn’t a bad deal at all for someone handy enough to address the issues.

I hear the backup sound on my Mach-E, but even with the windows down I don’t hear the low-speed pedestrian sound when driving forward. An acquaintance at work told me it sounds like a “flight of angels”.

It isn’t “stupidity”, though. We’re used to having some kind of sound cue from a car, and EVs just don’t provide that. Given that this is something we’re all used to, I agree with the necessity.

This is one of those situations where making an accommodation for the disabled winds up benefitting EVERYONE. I’m an EV driver and I have zero issue with this ruling, even though I’d rather have Toyota’s low-speed sound than the one Ford chose for my Mach-E. The point is, I know pedestrians will hear me coming.

What’s missing here: The Compass is pretty close to the Cherokee in size and it’s actually pretty good. Hard to see the point in keeping them both and the Compass is doing better.

Yeah, the rise in fuel prices may actually prompt a return to hub-and-spoke routing to a degree that may make the A380 more sensible for some routes.
