Sure, but when you consider that a decent, running, original unrestored example of this might sell for $7-8k you’re still looking at a really hefty premium. This isn’t even a performance model, it’s the high-trim “lux” model and that doesn’t make it especially desirable or collectible.

This feels like something that’s been put in place to try to rebuild confidence and attract more investors. Doesn’t look like YA is putting real money at risk.

I’ve had a Rio rental recently, and my ex has a late Fit Touring 5 speed. The Fit is unquestionably more fun to drive, but the infotainment sucks big-time. For a long commute I might be tempted to go for the gadgets.

This is a high-trim low-end car. The “if” in your proposition is doing a lot of work here.

It breaks my heart to do it, but it’s ND by a good $5k. Great condition, and as Novas go this is moderately collectible. Fantastic ‘70s relic that will look great on a period film set, sure. But that price... whew...

Forte is the next size up (i.e. Corolla class)

Having owned a couple of Kias after a succession of Hondas and Toyotas, I’d say they’re actually pretty close. And Kia/Hyundai pack in more features, usually.

NP if only because if you part it out you can just about get your money back just parting out that interior. In that sense, it’s relatively low-risk. Best of luck to the eventual buyer.

You get a star for “scrumpled” lol

I keep reminding myself that NP/ND isn’t “Would I pay this price?” but “Is this a fair price?”

Hell, repurpose the hotel to house the homeless for a few years while they figure out what else to do.

It is.

I always approach NP/ND not as “would I pay it?” but as “is this an objectively supportable price?” And when I saw the headline I was sure the seller was smoking something.

Not just a “sunroof”, a glass moonroof which was a rarity in those days. IIRC the Prelude always had that standard. Like, through every generation.

If it were a manual, and in clean 100% original condition with low miles... No, $8,400 is still ND.

Yes, that POS Austin was worth more. Sadly, but legitimately.

Ditto. I nearly wound up with one of these as my first car (when the deal fell through I instead got a ‘76 Celica), so I’ve always had a sentimental attachment. This is really nice, but between the mods and the auto it’s sadly ND for me, too.

Any accident where power lines are potentially involved needs to be approached VERY carefully.

This looks like work of unusual quality, so I wouldn’t disqualify it under the “other people’s work” rule.

The market was constrained by chip shortages brought on by chip fabs that had to shut down for COVID. Those fabs have been back up and running for months and they’re filling backlogs. How much longer do you expect this to keep up?
