MORE expensive, MORE complex... pretty cool (the Lucid Air has a tricky retractable center screen a bit like you describe), but no way you’re going to find something like that on a non-luxe brand.

This isn’t a “premium” car. The 2.4 is okay for the Compass’ mission. I’m looking forward to the 4xe though.
There are two benefits to the “floating tablet” type design that will ensure it remains popular: 1) it frequently allows the screen to be mounted higher, which puts it closer to the driver’s line of sight and 2) a separate screen is easier to swap out, either for the manufacturer when they want to upgrade or for the…
I like the new interior, but let’s face it, it’s a risk. Jeep’s brand is built on durability and functionality, and these new interiors seem to run counter to that. Mind you, the Compass and Grand Cherokee aren’t exactly hardcore offroaders, either.
OMG... A Coyote in this? David E. Davis Jr. would solute you from the grave!
NP. You could probably nearly double that just parting it out and the transmission isn’t THAT hard to address.
The EV1 was more “proof of concept” than anything else. They were enormously expensive to build and toward the end of the program they had trouble even leasing them all out. There was no “conspiracy”, it just wasn’t commercially viable at the time.
We’re not pricing this on its intrinsic automotive value, but on it’s collector value. And yeah, based on that, it’s NP.
Former Kia Koup owner. Feeling this 😢
Cars are basically toast.
Yeah, even if we can take the seller’s claims at face value this is still kind of a sucky price. Sorry.
I suspect with advances in materials (specifically: ceramic rotor seals) and computer engine controls that rotaries could still enjoy a renaissance
Landscaping companies are the biggest users of these. Electric mini-excavators will be big with them, since the quiet operation and smaller carbon footprint will be market advantages.
Unlike many, I didn’t mind the Crosstour and I don’t think it’s a horrible car. And $9,800 might be okay for an AWD V6, but it’s a little steep for this one. ND.
Ball sweat is the worst
Apparently Ford’s retractable hardtop was intended for the Continental Mk II, which would have been pretty sweet.
450hp doesn’t do anything for you, huh?
I’m old enough (and enough of an old-school mystery fan) that Montenegro instantly calls Nero Wolfe to mind.
That’s a bit of a crude way to put this. The Chinese don’t need to be so flagrant. Financing these projects gives them an “in” to a country’s treasury and buys a ton of goodwill and influence.
btw, those three words succinctly sum up why this is a no-lose proposition for the Chinese.
