This is a gut-punch of a price, but it’s a fantastic resto. I’ll vote NP, maybe not for me in particular but I’d bet there’s someone out there it would work for.

It’s going to be heavier, for sure, but aside from that it appears they’ve made a fair effort to maintain offroad ability. The Rubicon has the same ground clearance and they made sure to mount the battery where it wouldn’t easily scrape.

You clearly missed the “artist’s rendering” caption. The pic is a joke.

The whole ecosystem Nissan built up for these boutique cars is AMAZING, and probably a couple of decades ahead of its time. I’m betting if an automaker took this approach up now they’d enjoy more success.

I haven’t seen the results so far but I expect a fairly resounding ND loss.

That’s tiresome. 1) The vast majority of electricity in North America is either renewable, nuclear, or natural gas now. 2) Even with full-on coal generation, an EV will have lower carbon emissions due to higher efficiency and regen braking.

For a super-luxury sedan that’s very much an edge case.

God help me that “minimalist” version doesn’t look awful. Might be worth putting together some kind of dealer-installed thingie.

I could conceivably put up with the thick-pillared exterior for the sake of that beautiful interior.

This is getting awfully close to my sweet-spot. 90% of my driving would be electric, but I actually DO like off-roading and camping, and I routinely take 1,500 round trips on the Alaska Highway where the mountain roads give a lot of potential for regen braking. Eager to see Ford’s Bronco PHEV.

I’m going NP. It’s not for everyone--probably not even for me, tempting as it is--but this would appear to be as nice an example you’re ever going to find of a real unicorn of a car.

I think the GR Yaris is--by far--the most interesting car Toyota is producing right now. The question is, does a market for genuinely interesting cars even exist anymore?

Nothing that sells that well is a waste of development budget.

It would be great to see the Z return to its roots, though it hasn’t really been there in a very long time. Basically, a lightweight medium-hardcore sport coupe. The Sube BRZ isn’t too far off in concept, but with a decent, naturally-aspirated 6 (preferably I6 but I get that that’s too much to hope for).

I’m finding myself really drawn to that Rebel 2dr hardtop lately. That’s an unusually graceful design.

Not gonna vote on this one, because it isn’t so much a car as a Kiss collectible and I have absolutely no understanding of that market. For me? Definite no.

The correct take, IMHO. The Prowler was a “fun” car, not a hard-core performance car (that was what the Viper was for). ~250hp was fine for a late-90s cruiser.

This isn’t my favorite Toyota per se, but there’s a good case to be made that this gen Camry was Toyota’s all-time best sedan. And they’re a deceptively fun drive with the V6 5 speed. Ridiculously solid, too.

Give this thing 4" more wheelbase, a little more battery, and it could probably sell for $20k easy.

Looks kinda Dodge-y. In more ways than one.
