No question, it’s a beautiful build... I just can’t wrap my head around it.

There are no words...

I have no doubt Porsche will do that interior. For another $30k.

The widely-accepted penalties for parking illegally in a handicapped spot don’t include getting shot.

That’s kind of a shitty, pointless judgement. You weren’t there.

Can’t un-see!

I’m hoping they learned about building durable, solar-enabled surfaces. Even if they’re not roads, this tech can be applied to other surfaces.

I can’t remember any project quite like this one. Yes, it needs a donor car, but it’s really rebuilt from the ground up. It seems like mongrelization at first glance but there really is an odd pedigree here.

I remember starting to read Popular Mechanics when I was about 3, and that’s what really ignited my love of cars. I was a faithful reader of PM through the 70s and 80s and remember Dunne’s work well.

So, the Prado is sold in NA as the Lexus GX 460, and I’ve wondered what the functional differences are between it and the 4Runner (aside from the obvious V8 engine).

That b-roll footage of the car driving downtown gave me a pleasant little flashback to L.A. Noire

It was irresponsible reporting to begin with. And the clarification won’t do anything to settle the now-rampant rumors.

I’m gonna swim against the stream and give it an NP. Yes, I get that we don’t do that with modded cars but I like the work on this one (aside from those odd wings on the front corners, but they’re easy to overlook). It’s nice work and there’s no denying it’s... different.

Fair enough. You’re still going to have WAY more chance to demonstrate 0-60 than you ever will top speed.

Fair.

The question might be put better this way:

I could see an ultra-lux Fleetwood trim.

I’ve always been a big fan of the “traditional” American luxury car. Lincolns, Cadillacs, even Oldsmobiles and Buicks. This is pushing the right buttons for me.

VW has had at least one convertible in the lineup for decades. I’d call this more of a successor to the Golf Cabrio or the EOS than anything else. I’d give it a serious look if it ever came to North America; affordable convertibles are few and far between now.

I know people think that’s nuts, but...
