I’ve been following this saga faithfully, and really, this is a classic hoarder. He needs help. I feel sort-of bad for him but he’s partly a victim of his own lack of organization and compulsive behavior. He’s probably going to have to scrap a lot more “treasure” before he’s through, sadly.

It’s really nice. Acura needed to regain some design cohesion.

However big a dick the seller is with his SEO, it’s clean.

I LOVE the Megane, weird as it may be.

I miss hardtops, too. Once owned a pristine ‘71 Chrysler 300 sedan with vacuum doors for the headlights and four glorious power windows that all wound down to create two massive side openings.

Perfect proportions. One of the great coupe designs of all time.

Love the idea. Would love it even more if a public database could be developed.

Musk vs. The Monorail is absolutely the transit fight Americans deserve.

The Impulse holds up very well.

In the days before ABS and stability control, yes, it WAS risky to use CC on anything but the driest conditions, but ever since we’ve had computers that can compare wheel speeds I agree that it’s a non-issue.

There’s also the question of negligence, and that’s an area where there’s been significant study. This particular phenomenon is as much a human factors issue as anything else.

Nissan needs to show some balls. Do a real performance version of the next-gen Juke (a car I personally hated but seemed to see everywhere). Do a new Frontier with that Cummins they did the show truck with a few years back. Do a performance hybrid sport coupe. Create something memorable.

You’re choosing a particularly ugly interpretation.

While I get your call for accountability, I struggle to see what would be appropriate here.

It’s not a question of deterrence; the cases where parents have tried to pull this deliberately have been easy to spot and there are very clear penalties for people who murder children. What you have left are devastated parents

It can happen. I have nothing but sympathy for parents who make this mistake; that’s a lifetime of regret right there.

That WaPo piece is the most haunting article I’ve ever read (and one I link to liberally when tragedies like this happen).

It began life almost 30 years ago as a tweaked version of the Legacy wagon...

Not sure what generation you’re talking about, but I have to say that Sync 3 is probably the best infotainment platform out there right now.

Buick is intended to be a “near-luxury” brand. It’s also extremely popular in China so that’s unlikely to go. The Cadillac Escalade is still selling really well and there’s no current comparable Buick product. It’s also hard to tell whether a full-size BOF utility would translate over to Buick.

Cadillac is making a massive mistake moving in this direction. Lincoln is having a lot of success bringing traditional American luxury touches to its cars and building a real niche for itself. Caddy seems to be moving downmarket, if anything.
