My 2015 Mirage has 196,000 miles on it now and has never broken down. Not once. The only CEL I ever got was for a broken wire on the VVT solenoid...five minute fix. As far as I am concerned, a Mirage with a manual transmission is the most reliable new car you can buy right now. In fact, the engines in these cars are…
For general comparison purposes, it’s usually best to compare new to new and used to used.
The calculus has changed in the last 2 years with that.
For all the shit the Mirage gets, I’m happy to see it around. And I do see a lot of them around, surprisingly. Yes, a used car with more space, power and features can be found for the price of a Mirage. Even a CPO one, I’m sure. But no CPO car will have a 10 year/100k powertrain warranty, and the 5 year/60k basic…
There are more people than you realize who would rather have the less-equipped car with zero miles and a full warranty over a 5 year old car with miles and no warranty (the Kia probably has some warranty left but I’m not sure how long those last anymore). I am not one of those people, as is evidenced by the fact that…
3 years ago, a 50k mile Camry that was 5 years old would kick the crap out of a Mirage for the same price. Today, it’s more like a 10 year old Camry with 100k miles that’s the same price.
not for nothing, but 2 years ago when gm/ford starting pulling the plug on cheap cars we new this would happen. Americans are just dumb lol
Let’s play a game
plenty of small cars get bad fuel economy (Miata).
For me, I think a midsize or large sedan, even one with a V6, hits the sweet spot. A Lexus ES 350 is rated for 31 MPG on regular fuel on the highway, and one of the auto magazines got their press car to 39 MPG and 620 miles of range at a consistent 75 MPH.
It’s the “good times will never end” of low gas prices that happens every decade or so. I got premium for less than a dollar in the late 90s and it regularly stayed between $1-2 on average and creeped up to $4-6 in 2008. It’s how you got V10 Ford Excursions with 10mpg and no one blinked. Then the small car boom in…
You say 5.8 seconds to 60 is slow like every other car Mazda makes is faster than that.
Afghanistan didn’t have nuclear weapons, that is why we were more active post 9/11. If the Taliban had a nuclear arsenal, then you can bet there would be a lot more uncomfortable shuffling. Also we were in NATO, and Ukraine isn’t.
So we are totally anti-war in our home. But how can we sit by and let this shit continue in Ukraine? Feeling very frustrated by our own hypocrisy and NATO. The whole damn world mostly supported us after 911. This shit reminds me of the US stance in Europe, we waited too long to try and stop Hitler then also. “Hey…
I was actually going to say they should bring their “hunting” weapons and go fight for freedom in Ukraine; but then I remembered that they are LITERALLY afraid of needles. That’s what this all boils down to.
These dipshits need to read the room. The time for their whining has passed. The real fight for freedom is being waged by Ukrainians.
