" this show's power will be in not just exposing the everyday misogyny women have to face, but also showing how men must evolve and grow to eradicate this sort of ingrained sexism"

Nick breaking up with June waa definately the smart thing to do-even if it did hurt her. I dont think his intention in the begginijg was to even sleep withebut he grew concerned, compasssionate and started to care. Then came sex.The heart wants what it wants.

Ah ok. Thanks! I should really read the book.

What is Angel? Is that Mayday?

Very true. The best part about Nick's backstory was that we got more insight into Gilead's power structure. We have been told up to this point that Waterford is very high up and runs things-but everyone has a boss. Seeing Commander Price and how he handles the Son's of Jacobs was interesting. This is letting us know

I agree. I think taking the time to learn about Nick gives us more insight into his motivations and intentions towards June and Gilead. He clearly cares for June and was positively livid watching her with the commander. I think his guilt about being apart of Serena's plan and being in Son's of Jacob was coming

The only thing tying this episode and it's two storylines together was the themes: Idleness and Hypocrisy.

I agree that expanding the characters to fit the context of the story (women's rights, rape culture, feminism etc) is a good idea. It gives viewers a chance to breathe (with Luke- a lighter journey and character) and a chance to realize the full horrors of Gilead (Emily). I wish the show would continue to expound on

What i liked about this episode:
I like that we were able to see Luke's story and witness his love for his family. This is a dark series, and a little light- something as simple as watching a mother and her child making pancakes- does wonders. Yes, this is a show about women's rights, rape and other things, however

I must say, the anthological approach is the best one for a show like this. Yes, what's happening to June is horrific and her story is worth telling… but, she is not the only person affected by this oppressive government/society. I would love to learn more about luke, Moira, nick, the other handmaids, martha's and

The soundtrack is the only good thing about that movie.

I fully expect him to ve a serial killer by the time the show ends

Her scenes with sam were not good. I think it is because her and the actor lacked the chemistry to make their relationship seem like a passionate love affair. However, her best scenes were her work scenes with her barely disguising her disgust towards her boss, her anxiety over asking him for a promotion/raise and her

I SCREAMED when i heard this line

I think the Loyal Watchman is Bash… I can't wait till he pops up to save the day!!

Great recap. The show not promoting Catherine or even spending more time on her is a damn crime. Nevertheless, she ruled this episode as ever.

Ya'll should watch the AfterBuzz AfterShow for Reign on Youtube. A great panel discussion and review

I swear I miss this show lol

Things I loved
- Catherine and Mary protecting each other. Mary aiding and abetting a fugitive and defying the king of France-downright beautifu. Catherine helping Mary by giving her advice and pushing her to make the right choice. Also, Catherine's one liners were on point and very hilarious (l actually laughed out

Catherine: She. Is. A. Straight. Savage. From becoming regent by blackmail and seducing Narcisse, she has made moves that i dont even think Mary and Liz could achieve combined. She was ruthless in her takedown of Lola and Narcisse. As much as i like Lorcisse, Cathcisse is much more fun.
