It'd be a hell of a troll move. Still, this series is going to need all the help it can get, so I don't see them pissing society off to that degree.

COMING SOON: The All-New, All-Different, All-Minority Avengers Movie!
I have no idea whether he's an actor or a plumber at this point.
I do not know how Sam Worthington has a career. The dude is "Generic Create-A-Wrestler Template #4" in human form.
Funny, this is what I hear whenever someone bitches about a band being "inauthentic" or whatever, like there's a fucking recipe one must follow.
Because clicks.
Ted Cruz is the megalomaniacal lizard person we deserve, Tilda is the benevolent lizard person that we NEED.
"Articles like this, however, do not help."
"Contrary to what people seem believe, film is more diverse now that any
point in time. Issues of representation have been incrementally
addressed, and box office numbers continue to validate those changes.
Treating this like it's fucking Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's
is dumb and makes some of us want to…
Yeah, I'd prefer to call an individual idiot an idiot. Clearer distinction to make without all the blanket generalizations.
Also, I'd argue that any artist shouldn't give the thinnest wisp of a shit about pissing people off. If they piss enough people off, they (eventually) lose their ability to make further art, or at least lose the freedom to make art that isn't compromised by other factors. That's the risk they run.
"If they actually did care, they could have avoided this situation it
altogether if they had people other than white men deciding everything
about these projects."
Nah, he was a Caucasian male named Stephen Strange. "As drawn" is subjective, character origin is not. He was a wealthy honky Manhattanite, basically.
Eh, nothing would have "helped," IMO. Bitching is practically the coin o' the realm in the comic book/nerd sphere.
Sorry, that was phrased horribly. Change that to "What casting choice, in this instance, would have satisfied every vocal minority group?"
Cool. What casting choice, in this instance, would have led to some group of people not being pissed off?
They're sure great at keeping up that pretense.
"Look, one day you're going to die, and sometime later, anyone who could have possibly remembered you is going to die. It's okay. Just have some tea."
Nah, people being perpetual amateur contrarians on Twitter are wrong. The people "fighting for social justice" are probably out there doing more than sitting, safely ensconced behind a keyboard, replenishing their store of outrage.
The Internet is concerned with a couple things, IMO: Pride (and the enrichment/reinforcement of same) and safeguards against existential terror ("I'm here! I matter! TELL ME I MATTER!").
