I can’t get any of my friends to play D3 lol. Every Ladder reset, there is 8 of us playing through D2. If I suggest D3, it’s all moans and groans and they all HAVE the game already, they just didn’t like it. My brother played through it once and hasn’t touched it since.

No. If that were the case, no game could have “Destiny” or “Doom” in the title. It comes down to if a consumer would likely be confused by the title being too similar. So “Cyberpunk 3000" would likely be a no go, but “Laser Future: A Cyberpunk World” would be OK.
