Wendover Productions did an excellent video on this. The US is too sparsely populated for HSR to make sense. The rule is really no more than 300 miles separating major population centers for it to be profitable. That applies to only a few areas of the US and then to add that rail would cost billions and you would have

Wait until Sharia Law kicks in, the TGV will become apartments.

Nah, that would apply to lots of stuff.

The 49ers became sold on his ability to recruit personnel after reading on his resume that he spent 15 years working as a headhunter.

Theyre making moves, baby! Changing the optics! Working the brand! Moving the needle! Holding the.....baby......

Name one successful thing he’s done since 2000 that wasn’t his Radio 2 shows. (Hint you can’t because all his ventures bombed)

It’s so forced....Jesus.

He’s not quite as shouty on the radio, but he is still annoying on it, one of the main reasons that I don’t like being passenger in my mother’s car in the morning is having to be subject to his Radio 2 breakfast show.

OK just watched ExtraGear on iPlayer, thats more like it.. still a bit clunky but more what I was expecting in proper show... More of this please Aunty Beeb, more Harris und Schmitz, Let le Blanc be himself and less scripted, and ditch the Ginger.. Sorted..

Actually most of his stuff this century, apart from the Radio 2 breakfast show, have been a complete disaster. And it’s not hard to understand why, he’s awful. (I tried not to hate him, I tried)

It felt like a cover band doing a greatest hits album. The Nomad bit was great, but the rest was wooden. Gordon Ramsay was more enteraining than Chris Evans — maybe he should have been a host instead.

This segment is made or broken by the guests - though Clarkson could usually manage to make the most obscure/dull guest somewhat interesting. Old Gear had also started doing multiple stars in one go before, but they usually at least shared some other commonality like a movie or show.

Just like Chris

Sheesh. Wooden, chemistry and charisma-free; I spent half the episode checking the time. The Nomad bit was OK I suppose, but the rest was painful.

CHRIS EVANS presents CHRIS EVANS in all new CHRIS EVANS ‘Top Gear, starring CHRIS EVANS & some other people who get to talk to CHRIS EVANS.

Oh, and did we mention that Matt Le Blanc is American? Because he’s American. Matt Le Blanc. He’s American. From America.

Because her car show in Germany did so well.......

Well, it’s a tough call for me. I think it will be impossible.for me to get along well with chris evans. Why on earth is he screaming so much !?!. Mat on the other hand seems really good in solo video. I buy the idea and the video shooting but biggest probpem is the main host and no chemistry beetwen guys. It may

I disagree about the TG USA bit.. Perhaps better than their FIRST episode.. the only thing you can hope for is that i can overcome my prejudice andthis version grows on me like the American one did... eventually!

The first Reliant segment is a complete waste of time, the Sabine segment was a bit pointless, the star on a reasonably priced rallycross car (a Mini?!) interview was content-free, the Ariel Nomad segment was pretty decent, and the last part of the challenge was contrived but okay, thanks to the mayor of Blackpool.
