Most admissions people will tell you that they don’t just look at one thing.  If your SAT/ACT score isn’t that great but you went to a competitive HS and got a high GPA, they don’t care so much about the score.

I think it is most #2.  Heck, f0r $500,000 they could have bought her one or two McDonald’s franchises to own and make money from without every having to cook a single fry.  That’s something to fall back on.

That’s the funniest part:  these kids had probably no business getting into these schools but I bet they graduated with a B-average.

In fairness, some of the parents are actively tying to hide their actions from the kids - like the daughter who takes the ACT at CW1's house rather than at the school with everyone else. Of course, their kids are dumb and therefore easily fooled.
