The NPR interview with the real-life counterparts was absolutely fascinating, but I’m not sure I’ll spend the time on the TV series itself.

I’m in the “heartbreaker is worse” camp, mostly. I normally agree with Burneko on a lot of things, but it’s not true that the better team always wins in a blowout. Certainly the better team will get blown out less often, and it’s weaker teams that win close games, but the question isn’t about whether your team is

I spent all season trying not to pay attention, but then I relaxed a little bit and this is what we all deserve. I am so tired of this sport. Why didn’t you post your “how to avoid the NFL” today?

Don’t get me wrong—I’m happy to see them on somebody else’s list. After I left my comment, I dug a bit and saw that Bangin’ wasn’t nearly as popular as I thought, and it was a big drop off from Play Deep.

I got really lucky with Pandora by choosing as my first seed “Neutral Milk Hotel”. I thought it would be interesting to see/hear what I got, and I was right. I like Neutral Milk Hotel now as much for the recommendations I got out of that as for their music (which I love both In Avery Island and In the Aeroplane Over

They totally couldn’t qualify. I think their second album had almost as big a hit at the time as “Your Love” and their third album did decently.

Nobody even knows what a “hit” is. They’re awesome.

I disagree about your choice (and I listened to Nervous Night until the tape broke), but thanks for mentioning them. I really don’t think they can be said to qualify, though. But, who knows? I don’t think Devo qualifies.

I was just going through all the comments to find if someone mentioned Local H. I think they may not qualify, because apparently Fritz’s corner cracked the U.S. Top 40, but forget that. They’re great. And “Bound for the Floor” is still a great song.

Pandora added “Zen Brain” to one of my stations when I first started using it, and it’s one of the reasons I liked Pandora so much. “Zen Brain” became one of the first songs I bought digitally.

“Zen Brain” by Nada Surf was in my Pandora feed one day and it’s an amazing song.

You’re not doing a poor job. You are articulating a very important point in various ways to various commenters who are all dealing with a boundless outrage—that you are out of bounds for this outrage is why I call it “boundless.” You are displaying sympathy and tact and you are doing it well.

Good analogy, but the original article is a good example of wrestling with that question. Another comment mentioned “let’s look for a better heuristic”, but I think the original article was good in acknowledging the inherent limitations of the heuristic the author used. I guess what I’m saying is that, you’re right

I was seriously in the “muscle weighs more than fat, it’s not so far off” crowd, until this comment.

This is me:

I’m not a Vikings fan, but I am finding so much joy in watching these videos. This is some contagious happiness.

I’m fascinated by the way Chappelle is navigating it. He acknowledges his wealth, but still has a “walked away from $50 million” integrity. ‘Course, Netflix just gave him all that and more, from what I read, so there is that.

Your right, but I think there’s also something else. “These are his readers.” He’s a pretty audience-savvy writer. He’s a dark mirror of America’s id. Actually, not dark. Just a regular old reflection of some bad shit.

In his page 2 days, he was quite proud of claiming success that his J-school professors never predicted for him. I believe he got a Master’s in journalism and started “Boston Sports Guy” on AOL while he was interning at the Globe.
