I spent 5 minutes about to say the same thing, but then I realized I disagreed with the entire premise of the list and quit. Oldman has always been fantastic. When I was working on my response, I hit IMDB to clarify the dates and roles, and I was reminded of how often I’ve enjoyed his performances.

Good answer. Why in the ever-living fuck would we expect our politicians to be perfect? Biden isn’t perfect, but he aims for better, and he works hard.

Somebody I knew in college once said that he defined marriage as “being able to have sex whenever you want.” It kinda disturbed me then without really being able to articulate it. That’s a perfect example of how rape culture perpetuates itself.

Often misattributed to Steinbeck but it was Ronald Wright: “Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.”

Ohhhhhh. Nice.

Like, I’m totally with JustLikeTheGypsyWomanSaid and all, but you’ve got some great Kinja.

No, wait. I found it. It was you: “As for Gore, if people liked him he’d have won.”

I’m obviously just mis-clicking on the damn comments. I was responding (I thought) to a comment about Gore, whose name I redacted with my oh-so-clever use of brackets, and now I can’t find that comment, and I don’t feel like looking. Carry on.

“If people liked [the person who won a majority of the popular vote in the national election he ran in], he would have won [that election].” Um, what?

“Cows the rubes” is the best phrase of the week. Good work, sir and/or madam.

I don’t disagree, but in what world would it be possible for a debate to actually take place if the moderator is “fact-checking” every form of lying, as defined within this article?

Checking.....

That’s a nice handle, too.

Wondolowski wasn’t the answer. Donovan’s spot was basically given to Wondo. That doesn’t jive with your claim about where those spots should have gone. Donovan could have provided more leadership off the bench than Wondo, and certainly would have provided more on-the-field prowess.

While “that’s a million miles away” is, admittedly, a metaphorical way of saying exactly what you’re asking for, it seems disingenuous of you to claim that he hasn’t done almost exactly what you’re saying he could have done, or said.

I like Landon Donovan, specifically because he often provides “valid, thoughtful” responses. He seems like a more thoughtful person than many people (athletes or otherwise), and I imagine it must be difficult to navigate his own thoughtfulness with the requirements of the media he interacts with regularly.

People who claim to be “centrist” but repeat the outright fabrication that there is some sort of equivalency between Trump and Clinton are the worst kinds of liars.

Correction: the video has confirmed nothing, because the video hasn’t been released.

Please define a metric for “staying in the background” and provide evidence for a) the metric you’re using and b) the data on both Michelle Obama and Laura Bush that justifies your claim that one “stayed in the background” more than the other.

Nice handle.
