This here is a great example of media bias affecting the outcome. The media’s largest bias is for conflict. The media doesn’t benefit from a runaway election. It is in every media-person’s best interest to do everything in their power to create as close a race as possible.

Eyes of the Dragon is the top re-read of any list for me. I read the sequel to Talisman (Bleak House, right?) when I thought I’d try to read the Dark-Tower...I dunno, spinoffs? It was...forgettable is the right word.

1408 was collected into an audiobook called “Blood & Smoke”, including 2 other stories (all three appeared in Everything’s Eventual), all narrated by King. He didn’t do a half-bad job.

Remember that news is just a form of gossip. It’s entertainment dressed up for people playing at “adulthood”—which is fine. Everyone’s just playing culturally conditioned roles anyway, but it helps to remember that.

The sound of “uh” is the mid relaxed vowel, (orthographically, the schwa), and it is the most common sound in English. The corresponding filler words in other languages use similar common sounds.

Starred for the Belated Media love.

Who’s settling? There’s a snapshot: it’s now currently better. Does that mean anybody actually stops? No. It means, hey! we have made things incrementally better, let us now continue that process that we have just shown in making things incrementally better.

In addition, he solicits input from regular readers, some of which he includes in the post. He includes his favorite team

He must be the biggest Iron Man to ever come out of Latveria!

Nor should chopsticks have splinters.

This really isn’t news.

You are a hero.

It has not yet become its own antonym (that would be “egregious”), but it may be on its way there. And it’s only on its way there because there aren’t enough heroes like ad infinitum, up there, fighting the good fight. Notice that it’s only in North American informal English that the usage has started to change.

Guessing you don’t actually know anything about Woz.

So true. Yet, Rovell is only a secondary character in this particular drama. If he actually appeared on-stage, I’m sure it would be worse.

And yet the assholish denial was against a report from....Rovell. Sometimes, there really are no heroes.

“Complete” being the most operative word. Stories are powerful inasmuch as they straddle the line between completeness and incompleteness. They need to be complete as a story, and incomplete as a world, would be one way of looking at it. The incompleteness is a driver and motivator of quality. By reducing

Recently read a Cracked article about how Lucas killed Boba Fett because he was already paring down the number of movies he was going to do; in the original conception, Boba Fett was going to be (one of) the big bad(s) of a second trilogy.

Came over from the later thread just to star this. Thanks!

Magnificent centrist bastards, by definition, want all the votes.
