Ohhhh. That actually….makes her most interesting. Because from everything we know about Casti's, dying hair doesnt seem to me, like an acceptable practice.

I really like the hybrid (is she half Irathient and Castithan?) lady Irisa found in the woods, it looks like she walked out of an anime and into this show every time she's appeared.
can't tell if parody post
I really dig the shows willingness to portray non-normative sexuality/sexual practices in such a positive (for the most part) manner, or even its propensity to portray them at all. It may not always be successful, but at least it tries (that seems to be the pattern with this show).
They finally bring back Rynn, but she gets 2 lines of dialogue and an eye cut out. Okay. She better be in next weeks episode, a lot.
It kinda feels appropriate somehow re; Christie: bare minimum characterisation prior to BAM Casti whiteface and magical glowing stones. Pretty hardcore whiplash the show pulled there.
I… what was with that ending? I kinda dig it for its whacked out bizarreness but I'm baffled.
Fantastic write up! Makes me think about the show in a new….. context.
Am I the only one that's convinced she isn't dead? I just don't buy it. Still waiting patiently for her to show up.
Mightily impressed with how the show is handling the theme of abuse this season. As you said, the only thing they could do to fuck it up is by making Amanda's rapist Pottinger. A fear I had during that entire scene. But for now, good job show.
Agreed.. That Defiance credit sequence was perfect; beautiful imagery and gorgeous music.
Yeah, an odd way to end an otherwise strong episode. They really need to tone down the episodes ending with a song + montage pattern they've developed. Or at least let Bear score some of them.
The name of the bomber's accomplice "Bradley Weddle", came from a combination of writing duos Bradley Thompson and David Weddle's names. The dudes responsible for some of BSG's strongest episodes (and the writers of one Defiance episode thus far).
Yes, it has been quite delicious.
Deserving winner. This comp has been worth it for all the confected outrage it inspired.
Wachowskis' + Straczynski. I'm all in.
The director was Michael Nankin (although I'm sure you've checked by now!), who was one of the best directors on BSG (Someone to Watch Over Me, Sometimes a Great Notion). That shot you have as the header is just marvelous.
Jaime Murray continuing to elevate the quality standard. That lady is a gift to scifi.
um sorry, who hates Storm? She got that death scene because it was supposed to shock, if anything her death represents how important she is. They do need to do more with the character though.
It wasn't. It was a kid that we see at the very end who leaves the room across from Wolverine's.
