If you want to see one of the biggest influences on Battlestar Galactica, in my opinion, find a copy of “Space Above and Beyond”. Gritty like galactica, this show to me was everything I had wanted Star ship Troopers to be.

Not to mention, extraordinarily sci-fi. I definitely do not recall any flying cars or giant spaceships. They were driving around in an old jalopy truck, and the terrain wasn’t anything like Mars, so wtf? At least it gives me hope that the plot point about Tris being stronger and more resistant to sims than everyone…
