For men, unfortunately, the noses and the ears change. My nose isn’t that different, but I’m getting “endangered elephant in the Seregenti” ears, just like Prince Charles. I’m also going a little deaf, so maybe it’s the body’s way to compensate?

Yes. They change usually in your teenage years. MrStu and I have noses we’re not crazy about. Both of our kids have beautiful baby noses and we’re 100% sure they will grow into obnoxious honkers during puberty.

Yes. Noses are one of the few body parts that pretty much constantly change. Apparently it’s because gravity continuously pulls the cartilage down, so we go from having perky “ski jump” noses as children to hag-like droopy noses in old age. And in the middle are the noses that point downward.

So what’s the over/under on crappy weather that day? There’s a reason you don’t see a lot of outdoor weddings in the British Isles. Having been to GB and Ireland several times, I’ve come to the conclusion that most of those sunny bright photos in calendars and tourist pamphlets are taken during what are probably the

I am all for expressing outrage for the practice of dog eating around the world but we are being disingenuous if we feel outrage for dogs being treated this way but not for the billions of chickens, turkeys, pigs, cows, rabbits, etc who live miserable lives and die horrible deaths for our “nourishment”. We cause pain

The problem is that in Korea (as well as China) dog meat is not regulated the same as beef, chicken, etc. so there is no oversight on the conditions and treatment of the animals (not to mention sanitary conditions). Also as a commenter above pointed out, there’s a belief that a painful death makes the meat taste

Dogs are meat. Cows are meat. Deer are meat. They all have personalities, emotions and social ties. And people eat them. Not me, but people in general. People are weird like that.

Gus Kenworthy may be a silver medalist, but his actions have earned him gold medal of my heart!

The the main problem I have with dog meat farms in Korea is......some of them harvest the meat by beating the dog to death. I don’t know if this is still common there in the ROK (I suspect not, given that it’s been 30 years since I last lived there and many Koreans’ attitudes towards dogs have changed).

Pretty sure we’d have a cow.

I don’t think he was protesting, he was just expressing how the conditions made him sad and upset, which is universal. It makes me sick because I personally can’t fathom how anyone in their right mind can look at a dog and want to consume it (considering my own dog is sleeping in my lap right now and I love him as if

Yeah uh we use pig heart parts in human heart transplants because their bodies are so similar to ours. Why draw the line at dogs? What about horses? Cats? Rodents? Birds? Fish? Those are all animals people keep as pets. As are pigs, sheep, goats, cows, deer etc etc. What makes dogs so different? If eating any meat is

Pigs are just as clever, affectionate, expressive, curious and playful as dogs. There is nothing in the world pigs love more than having their tummies scratched. They get this look of pure bliss on their faces

The thing is that most people here in North America don’t give two shits about how the animals they eat are treated. This is about a white man pushing his entirely arbitrary moral standards onto another culture.

You could argue the same for any kind of meat. It’s funny how different societies arbitrarily see some kinds of meat as okay and others as not. A friend of mine was horrified when I told her that one of my grandfathers farmed rabbits for meat. There are Peruvian paintings of the last supper where one of the dishes is

Why is it zero sum? I care about both. I don’t eat meat as well. Caring about horrific conditions for dogs in Korea is not hypocritical in any way.

I wonder how Americans would feel if a bunch of Hindus came to their country protesting the eating of beef.

It is hypocritical for us to arbitrarily care so much more for dogs in these horrible intensive farming situations, than we do for the pigs and cows and chickens, who feel just as much pain, in farms here at home. That being said, I cannot WAIT to see Game Changers - the movie.
