I think there’s a place for that, for sure, in the landscape of Hollywood. If anything, we’ve got a glut of disposable entertainment. Godzilla vs. Kong fits that bill, for example. Drop-waists and finger waves are two styles —fashion/clothing and hair, respectively— that were common in the 20s and are often depicted in cliched terms in period movies. This film takes studious liberties with them.
