Actually, as a Lions fan, the Patricia hiring made all too much sense for me after this game.

My Portuguese is rusty - what did the Brazilian say had been done to Patricia’s cabeza?

My favorite moment was the realization that LeGarrette Blount now has three Super Bowl rings.

Like Bill calling the last TO with 2:03 on the clock? That’s one way to hand in your 2-week notice..

Disagree. Pretty clear he double clutches on the ball. Once that’s established that he did “bobble” the ball, you look at the feet and it’s clear the 2nd foot is not down.

Yeah he deserves way better than what they did to him. And seeing as how their D got lit up the whole night, maybe try to do something different on defense? Isn’t that what coaches do? Maybe Patricia was just like... fuck it I’m going to Detroit.

On one hand, switching Gilmore onto Jeffrey did lead to the interception and generally shut him down, but on the other you can’t say Butler couldn’t have made a positive impact by being on the field in any capacity.

Yeah, this isn’t to take anything away from the Eagles that masterfully exploited the weakness, but boy did Belichick give them a huge flaw to hammer there. I don’t think it will ultimately tarnish his legacy, but it is wild that there is a very legitimate argument to be made that his own stubborness doomed their team

Agree. When Kyle Arrington was getting roasted in the SB against the Seahawks we got Butler. Last night there was no such adjustment. Two special team guys playing DB in the Super Bowl? Absurd.

Butler has his limitations but he is an excellent open field tackler and probably would have stopped some of those 3rd downs where the Eagles broke tackles and gained the 1st.

The only difference if we lost is that we’d have destroyed property angrily instead of joyously.

That would’ve happened either way, though.

As someone who has watched Rowe fail to cover #2 and #3 and #4 receivers all season, they probably would have been better bringing Troy Brown out of retirement.

It’s not Butler over Rowe that would make a difference, it’s Butler over Richards and Bademosi.

You look at any great CEO —heck, Steve Jobs is an amazing example — the things that make them great can also be their demise sometimes.

Maybe hyperbole but not ridiculous. Just one more stop in a game that had no stops. I hate that Rowe is getting killed. He is a nice player. But he had a rough game and Butler is that much better. I think Butler has shown he can make a big play. You don’t think he makes one more big play (or even a medium-sized play)

Belichick is a stubborn man who plays by the rules he makes. He’s had ridiculous success under those rules.

He didn’t have to make a crucial stop. He just had to be on the field to make the defense better. Remember, Chung got his bell rung in the game. There’s no way NE was better for having Butler on the sideline the entire game.

you’d definitely have seen butler get far more use if they were the old england patriots

Maybe Belicheck hates Philadelphia so much that he wanted to see it destroyed.
