While I personally do not usually shoot this way, I have heard many expert marksmen explain that they actually shoot a scoped rifle with both eyes open as it aids in target acquisition and keeps them aware of their surroundings.

@supergeek13579: I use MDRs too (I've owned four pairs because I have a bad habit of knocking them off the desk right before I step on them), and especially with those headphones, EQ makes all the difference. I won't say they're the best headphones, but for $15 shipped on amazon, they're definitely hard to beat on…
