Some years ago, while heading south on I-15 in southern Utah, I saw a Toyota 4Runner towing a frickin’ CABIN CRUISER! That boat was twice the size of the 4 Runner and probably at least as heavy!

Motorcycles are permitted by federal law to use HOV lanes, even with only one passenger. The rationale behind allowing motorcycles to use HOV lanes is that it is safer to keep two-wheeled vehicles moving than to have them travel in start-and-stop traffic conditions.

My car isn’t stick shift, but I can drop down a gear in manual mode (Pontiac G6).
Try riding in a bus, taxi or jeepney in the Philippines. The drivers there treat the throttle like an on/off switch.
