Very well could be true for me too, I’ve never used Uber because they don’t service my area. I was just curious about how they operate at a loss and are still the next big thing.

That is a great answer
Yeah I guess that makes sense, it just flabbergasts my mind!
Uber doesn’t service the city I live in, but we do have two taxi companies!
Thanks for the reply, that is nuts! I guess time will tell if they can turn a profit before they run out of money. I sure hope investment firms aren’t putting people’s pension and 401k money into companies like Uber!
Right! That seems to me like what so many tech startups are getting away with.
I would think if they jack up fares people would just start using traditional taxi cabs again.
Tell me if this is right please. Since Uber loses 2 billion dollars a year then Travis Kalanick is living a wealthy and extravagant life off off investors’ money? I mean if his company can’t make money his mansion and cars are funded by investment money correct? I don’t understand the whole startup craze with rich…
How does a business model that loses 2 billion dollars a year considered so valuable and forward thinking? The cheap fares and the company are just being propped up by investment money. What happens when people decide to stop investing in a company that perpetually operates at a severe loss the cash runs out?
This is out right fraud, people should do jail time imo.
This is not about science or technology. Why is it in gizmodo.com?
Cash me outside how bow dah!?
Every 5,000 feet or so when drilling you have to drive a large diameter pipe (called casing) in the ground to keep the hole from collapsing. Each successive 5,000 feet the casing gets a little smaller. Kind of like an upside down wedding cake.
Interesting! This is definitely doable at that depth. Oil wells have been drilled to 32,000 feet before. The temperature is where they’re going to run into problems, they’re going to have to circulate a crap ton of seawater at a high rate to keep the drill bit and pipe from melting or snapping apart.
Yeah, the scrolling is definitely a big fat piece of horse crap
Like throwing a hotdog down a hallway.
Didn’t they already have a movie with two part poison? Val Kilmer or somebody else was in it I think.
She Chinese she too smart she no drink the deadly part.
Immodium you dumb redneck. The real kind, not the Wal-Mart kind
Are these true to life colors, or are the different elements colorized to make them more human visible. If they are true colors, WOW!
