Heads-up: retrolicious metroidvania Axiom Verge is now available on Steam. It’s basically a nostalgia volcano, so beware of nostalgia lava, which corrodes new ideas. However, it’s still quite good, as our own Mike Fahey explained in his review.
That’s a great question, Owen!
There's a massive disconnect between game developers and the customer. It is hilarious watching threads of people discussing your work and pretending to know how your code works.
Videogame development in a big, harsh, rotten nutshell:
Before I joined Gearbox Software, I worked at Destructoid as a features editor. I worked there from 2006 to 2010 and…

Over the years, folks have found a ton of glitches inside of Super Mario Bros. 3—so even if you've played it before,…
I'm definitely with you on that one. It might've only been a refinement of Arkham City but I can't see how that's a bad thing.
Arkham Origins. I don't understand why it gets so much hate. As a Batman fan, it's probably my favorite game.
...because you took the art assets from those games wholesale.
