In congested urban Maryland, I’ve been bumped after 0.1 second because I didn’t move fast enough. You should hear what happens after a full second.

They might want to reconsider shutting down production of sedans?

What happened to the exploding gas tank?

So, is there a Jalopnik-recommended approach to dealing with tailgaters or other kinds of aggressive drivers? I mean, besides slowing down and inviting them to ram you? I searched but did not find anything.

I thought NUMMI did 10k/wk, but I could be misremembering.

I have not only seen Model 3, but driven it daily for two months. The panel gap complaint is an artifact of a small number of early instances and is sour grapes coming from those who don’t have 400,000 preorders. My Chryslers, bimmers, Hondas, and Lexuses were no better and in some cases far worse.

When NUMMI was for Toyota Matrixes and GM Pontiac Vibes, it peaked at 10000 per week. They were smaller and simpler cars, but that brings 6000 into perspective, it seems...

I double sided tape my ATV remote onto the back of my Receiver remote, and toward one end, so I have both remotes in a single object, with enough asymmetry to be obvious. Harder to lose and easier to find...

Oh, these silly combustion engines that get flustered at zero RPM and need a clutch! Even a steam locomotive can do better.

The worst was adjusting the cruise control speed by poking the screen. But they have already fixed all these issues in over the air software updates. Try that on your Lexus...

Could someone please explain to me how any self-respecting jalopian could ever drop $8-10k on “autopilot.”

Did you know gasoline energy works the same way?

Next up: coupe...

Hands down they make the worst tires I ever spent too much on.

A hybrid system captures energy when going downhill or slowing down, and the regeneration is used for braking; then later the energy captured is used for propulsion in electric motor mode. Why would tires be useful as a generator? Doesn’t anyone understand how electricity works?

Nice job of comparing the energy budgets for ICE and EV. Another perspective is that a Model 3 battery holds the equivalent of only about 2.3 gallons of gas. Any small energy savings is significant on such a budget.

You’re just a bit off on the Model 3. The aero covers are standard equipment on the 18" wheels, while the 19" wheels lack them. So standard equipment gives the owner a choice of whether to leave the aero covers on or remove them. I’m conflicted and may put them on for a long trip, but the 10 spoke wheels are

Make sure you pronounce Tesla with a ‘z’, too!
