On their seminal album Vivisect VI, Canadian horror-industrialists Skinny Puppy used a sample from Plague Dogs as the opening from "Testure" (which has the most disturbing music video ever) - namely, the friendly little dog Snitter remarking to his buddy Rowf about how death is hopefully the end:

San Francisco Giants, for one. GO GIANTS AND GO PANDA!

Gaga Gagactoria!

There were many, many parts of Perdido Street Station that freaked me the hell out. New Crobuzon (and the horror that descends on it from above) is one hell of a creation.

I don't think they're toning her down at all. I think she looks amazing in the above picture. If they're indeed "toning her down", it's probably not because it offends people. It's probably more to do with just doing something different. But seriously, you don't think she looks hot in the above picture?

At least with this syndrome, you'll have an extra edge playing Hungry Hungry Hippos.

That being said, I can't wait to get my hands on these maps.

Quality tip from your book-loving friend!

I love that, "an animal of some kind". But is it wrong for me to have laughed at the story?

No, I'm talking about the way these three young punk women are talking while rehearsing. Do you think young punks thrashing in a studio talk like that?

I couldn't help but remember that Heder is a pretty hard-core Mormon whilst watching this. Far too freaking preachy to enjoy, truth be told.

Dunno about this one. I'm thinking I'd be in the midst of reading it and constantly putting it down, yelling, No one talks like this!

You want to know how much $516,000 is in the "big picture"? Less than a drop in the ocean. This is nothing. Don't necessarily see you guys screaming bloody murder at the billions in tax cuts for overly-profitable oil companies or the blank cheques that are constantly being written for the defense budget. But fuck

Yes, but his character he plays on the TV is a "Republican" host.

Piece of cake! If you have access to a laboratory.

Apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, does it? Mittens himself was a bully (still is, truth be told) - so it makes perfect sense that his sons would be a bit on the unhinged side as well. But Tagg seemed to be joking ... Mr Death Stare Josh, on the other hand? I'd watch out for him.

Ever try to watch Big Bang Theory without a laugh track?

In a way I agree with you; but at the same time, the books have been out for quite some time. Maybe you should catch up? I did, and it only took me about two weeks.

Frankly, I was a little gutted that Patches wasn't in Season 2. There was something so indelibly creepy about that fool.
