I doubt very seriously they'd be able to come up with a name for a character that isn't already being used, what with 314 million people alive in the United States alone. Otherwise the name "John Smith" would be right out.

Can't help but notice that Red Dead Redemption isn't in your list. As far as open-world titles (and massive amount of hours to play), this is the best Rockstar game I've played since GTA. It's been out a while as well, so you could probably find it pretty cheap if budget's your problem. Go for it - it's amazing.
