He was far safer behind them where he can control the distance as opposed to trying to pass them or be in front of them.

I command you to now get vanity plates for it that say THESEUS. The only original part will be the little VIN plate on the firewall.

I’m curious how people get cars like that and think its a good idea if their driving skills are so poor.
I think a really good question that I havent seen anyone asking is what was the standard that the MKIVs were under, are the MKV+ TDis lower in emissions than the MKIV numbers and regulations. I think this may be the results of politicians going “oh you met that last standard so easily that you can do it again...heres…
So what about the significantly more powerful cars I’ve driven?
Uh on sticky UTQG 200 tires I can get it sideways in second. Its got more than enough power to do something stupid. Especially if youre trying to be the hotrod shomaster leaving some parking lot.
I’m curious how people have car control skills that are this bad. I’ve had an IS300 for 9 years that I’ve beaten the piss out of and never come close to anything like this.
Real talk here, if they could use a modern Toyota V6 and manual transmission in them...this could be amazing.
With snow tires on I’m sure the Aston is a more than competent vehicle. Summer only tires will get basically any car stuck in those conditions.
With that said, is the concept of pushing just a little by hand with the second person a lost concept? You were never so stuck that you actually had to dig it out, merely a…
I can confirm that back in the early to mid 2000s I may have known some people who worked for Chrysler and I may have gotten my hands on some parts that werent exactly available to the public. Some were made for Spec Neon racers, others were “test” parts. Some were just preproduction and engineering decided to go a…
The NVT-350 was an incredible transmission once you put a limited slip diff in and or put the diff pin retainer in place. Very durable and smooth synchros. Much smoother than the W55 which came in my IS300.
The motor mounts werent actually that bad, at least compared to anything else of similar vintage. I think they needed to be replaced roughly every 50-60k if you were an aggressive driver but took literally about 45 minutes to do all 3 with just a basic jack in your driveway and were pretty darn inexpensive. Urethane…
First gen Neons actually WERE awesome cars. The problem is everyone knows them as the SOHC 3-speed automatic equipped ones their sister neglected into massive failure. The one you posted which appears to have the DOHC engine and possibly a 5 speed manual was an exceptional drivers car. Not only that but they were…
Things like power windows have come down so much in price that it actually becomes cheaper to offer all cars with power windows than to offer manual crank at lower trim levels. The more they integrate a particular feature the more its cost comes down.
Scion sucks because its a brand that doesnt need to exist. Seriously.
I imagine MotoIQ would be interested. They have already taken a staunch stance against the “hellaflush” trend.
Its near the top of my “if I win the lottery” list. I would do something like get a Miata or WRX well prepped for autocross, a bone stock one on OEM equivalent tires, and a “stanced one” unknowningly crowdsourced by the stance crowd. Then I would show them how fucking horrible their cars really are. The pleasure and…
And I guarantee you they have never actually done a real performance evaluation of the car, comparing it to stock and to a car modified properly for autocross. I really...REALLY wonder why nobody has done this comparison yet.
I’m guessing that running synthetic would also help the issue.
Good restoration candidate. These things havent started to appreciate in value yet but they likely will in the next 10 years or so.
