I’m sure a good portion of people that played Shenmue played the sequel, but I remember back then it was harder to acquire unless you owned an Xbox, and the sequel isn’t the game that gets mentioned as much to me as the original.

I may be biased, but I think 1 and 2 still hold up pretty well today considering their age. I encourage all who are curious about this series to give it a shot!

Shenmue 3, along with some of the other games coming for PS4, was almost enough to make me go get one. If they announced an HD remaster on 1 & 2 I’d be going the nearest electronics store and buying a PS4 today!

I’d imagine Sony looms at rereleasing these games as a necessary part of releasing the 3rd. As much as people are excited, so few have actually played the games that this MUST happen.

Sega would be crazy to not ride the hype train at this point. They could make a quick buck and help out their buddy Yu! Yea... they really do need to do this... I mean, how many folks played BOTH games? I had the first on DC, but I never grabbed an XBox for the 2nd chapter. (Shenmue 2 only got ported to Europe in the DC.)

Beyond stoked for this but I never played Shenmue 2 so I’m worried I’ll be totally lost. That being said....

Anyone who thought they could develop Shenmue 1, let alone Shenmue 3 on a 2M budget is clearly oblivious to game development costs. It was just a matter of finding out who was helping fund the rest. Now we know.

I love how nobody can really tell what the game is about, but we’re hyped on it just the same.

It looks like the Fire Emblem heroes are the demons/Persona equivalent that you capture? And then the Shin Megami protagonists are high school students who also transform into nobility?

I love both series so however they mash up, all of the yes.
