I was hoping Ignatiy Vishnevetsky would review this: despite all the prays, it's a lackluster Nicolas Cage

I don't see what is so unclear about the twist at the end. The whole point of the movie, it seems to me, is about love and relationships, and how it's more difficult to be in a relationship with an actual person in the real world than it is to just form an attachment to somebody who tells you what you want to hear all…
Yeah, I can't wait to see Frank Frink punch Hitler square in the jaw…
I agree with you that Dick's work is usually a little more cerebral than you'd want for a movie adaptation, but The Man in the High Castle is probably one of his most cinematic books (along with Martian Timeslip). A lot of the imagery is of 1960's America bedecked with fascist imagery, and one of the earliest scenes…
Thursday Night Football will bring the press tour dais most likely to buy and sell the Beverly Hilton—including CBS CEO Leslie Moonves and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell—if you’re looking for any indication of how important this franchise is to the network.
I'm rather fond of this one, from Defective Yeti:
I agree, this is where common sense plays in. If I'm reading stuff about Fringe, the onus is on me to read at my peril since the show ended so long ago. If I'm half-way through Breaking Bad, and I click through an article which is not explicitly about Breaking Bad, it's a dick move for the writer of that article to…
Dude. Just include a spoiler warning. That's all people care about. It's not that hard.
Seems like there's a pretty obvious causation/correlation question here, which is the same one that's always at play in discussions of TV violence. Do the depictions on TV cause people's fear of crime to go up, or do people's fears lead to the depictions on TV?
That shot was also all the better because it was preceded by a shot of a regular human being trying to shoot at the top of the wall with a flaming arrow and not being able to get halfway up it.
Here's a link for the curious. This is neat, thanks!
Holy cow you guys, the Remain in Light wikipedia page is ridiculously detailed and awesome.
There are actually nine "kingdoms" in Westeros - really it's just the one kingdom, but there are nine regions with their own leaders who are then beholden (in theory) to the throne.
If you're worried about the page views, why not pursue a strategy other than "if you haven't seen the latest Hannibal episode and you don't like spoilers, you'd better avoid the entire AV Club site until you get caught up"?
Water is a molecule, not an element.
I am totally on board with improving the lot of actors of color, but for the love of god don't make me watch the Mindy Project any more. The one black character on that show is a Sassy Black Lady with virtually no other defining qualities, straight out of the parody video, so apart from Mindy Kaling I don't really…
I wasn't like his best friend or anything, but I did see DFW give readings three or four times, and every time he was wearing a do-rag.
Seriously. "Only this Billboard Top 100 hit from 2002 can save us now!"
Anyone seen the Danish original? Was it worthwhile? Most of the originals of these shows seem to be pretty decent before they get dumbed up by US TV personnel.
