I rode in a Porsche for the first and only time when I was 8 years old. It wasn’t new (and the bloke still owns it), but it was amazing to me. I live in country Australia - you still don’t see too many exotic cars here. I didn’t see a Ferrari up close until about 1991, when I was in my 30's.

Keeping the Commodore name when switching from Australian-built 6 and 8 cyl. to imported 4 and 6 cyl. vehicles did not help Holden. It wasn’t what killed the brand entirely, but it did not help. Sure, sedans aren’t the top of the tree anymore - but they should have used a different name, as the Opel-sourced cars might

Yes, I know that meaning, thanks - I thought you might have meant modifying the vehicle, and wanted to check as it didn’t make sense in the context to me. ‘Toying over’ I would not use - ‘toying with’, I would. If it does seem okay to you, great.

What does ‘toying’ mean in this context?  I thought it was spell checked from ‘toiling’ at first, but it was repeated.

I don’t think it is coming to Australia, but they missed on making it a two-seater with a longer tray. I, and possibly many Australians would have been interested. As it is, the tray is too short - so it would not suit my needs, sadly.

I have not owned a Skoda (yet), but they are known for including an ice scraper in an easily accessible place inside the car. I wouldn’t have any use for it in Australia, but it’s a cheap and thoughtful inclusion for a car of European origin, where it might be used daily during certain parts of the year.

More wheel options.

5th gear:

I would if two things existed:

I know - it must be a serious choice for designers.  I am almost certain that my next car will be an EV, but the problem of what to do with the ‘grille’ area remains, doesn’t it?  I still need to not hate their choice for my car’s ‘face’ :)

1969 - I’d be fine with it. My mother actually had a white Torana like this one.

First thing I thought of:

Computers can also crash randomly - I don’t want that from my EV. Standardisation will be unlikely, though - unless you ban patents from the car world. If you manage to get around that, who decides which is the ‘best’ standard for each part? I like the idea, though. Solve it for us, o great prognosticator.

I am absolutely perplexed by (any) Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter men’s collection.”

“Little”

Wow - yet another reason to be glad I live in Australia - where snow only occurs in the mountains of the southern states, but basically nowhere else in any real quantity. No road salt needed. Of course if you live by the ocean - which is all around us on an island, rust like that can happen.  Best wishes to you, man.

What is it like living with road salt? There isn’t anywhere in Australia that needs it, as far as I know. Where I live in Victoria, the coldest I can remember it being is -5C a few years ago, so the worst we get is occasional patches of black ice.

I think there’s a good chance that might happen - it would be strange that it didn’t get the option.

I remember watching Jonny Smith test drive the prototype and thinking that it wasn’t for me, but I liked that it might exist - I hope you get to drive it, too.

The Ioniq 5 and EV6 will be on my list of EV’s to try when I next change my car. I’ve pretty much decided that I now own my last ICE car and the options for a relatively affordable EV are growing all the time.
