This Time, It's Personal!

I took some time off between undergrad and grad school, and I spent that time working. At one point, I went through part of Cutco's training program. I realized right away that it was a total scam, but I was utterly fascinated by the creepy, manipulative selling tactics they were espousing (not to mention the creepy,

"I made a Youtube video about it—and it's gone viral!"

That annoys me, too. I think the person who has been cheated upon has the right to know, so that s/he can make an informed decision regarding whether or not to stay with the cheater. Even a one-time thing can be a deal-breaker. It would be for me.

He absolutely is. I just started watching "Beauty is Everywhere" (the show's 1991 season) on Netflix, and it is my perfect "chill out and wind down" show. Ross has a soothing voice and presence, and who the hell doesn't love baby squirrels? Baby squirrels!

I panicked!

His 1995 BBC documentary on the Crusades is wonderfully entertaining, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants an introduction to the subject.

I drink infrequently, and I really don't like most alcohol, but I LOVE sweet white wine. My favorite drink is a young, sweet Riesling.

I don't know which is the best method of destruction, but I do have a question about the format changes, namely, is Random Roles still a thing, or has the AV Club discontinued that, too?

"She's half woman and half four different woodland animals!"

This is true, but I honestly don't mind if an actor has a limited range, as long as s/he does what s/he does well. I never felt the need to see Dennis Farina play King Lear.

Me, too. Dennis Farina was one of those actors who gave consistently good performances. He was also great in Luck and had amazing chemistry with Dustin Hoffman.

Matthew Wilder's "Break My Stride" makes me homicidal.

Honestly, that is EXACTLY what I would do, too.

…and a ball-gag.

In Exorcist III, there is a slow, almost excruciating, build up to the moment when the killer, wearing white clothes and a white sheet, suddenly appears behind the nurse with a giant pair of shears. The stinger music was incredibly effective.

This film is wonderful because Atkins goes "full Atkins" in it, and that is always a good thing.

I do agree that Metallica was able to successfully transition from a metal audience to a larger, more mainstream audience in a way that Iron Maiden didn't (or couldn't).

During most of the 80s, Iron Maiden were enormous among metal fans worldwide.

Iron Maiden and Judas Priest were THE British metal bands in the 1980s. They were huge even before Metallica really hit, so they actually did have the level of fame you are talking about.

My main reaction to the third letter is dismay that people look at their phones while having sex. That depresses the hell out of me.
