at first the fix seems like the better deal, but then i looked at it this way: the total cost of my 2015 TDI S was $27,791 (cash price+TTL+1.9%APR 5 years). My total buyback number is $25,500. This means if i keep driving it and then do the buyback in Septemeber 2018, i just drove the car 40 months for $2,291.. Thats

yes. seriously considering it. total value of my loan is $27,791. My total buyback number is $25,500. This means if i keep driving it and then do the buyback in Septemeber 2018, i just drove the car 40 months for $2,291.. Thats a cost of ownership of $57 per month.... If i do the fix, that effectively brings the cost

what is not right is that the values in the table for 2015s are not based on any trade-in value from september 2015 because that data did not exist then since the car was essentially new. so instead they used 70% of the msrp. vw is saying your car depreciated 30% when you drove it off the lot.

2015 right? you’re gonna get a crap deal selling it back unless you live in a state with no sales tax and got a really good loan or no loan at all. they didnt use trade in values for the 2015's they used 70% of the msrp. its designed for 2015 owners to take the fix as an easy choice.

pollution doesn’t only affect the people directly behind a vw...

same boat. agreed on all points.

if you bought and sold the car before the scandal broke then the value wasn’t affected at that time and both your transactions were fair.

that makes a lot of sense. good on you for finding that in the PDF. i had a feeling this was the case just based on the fact that the 2014 are worth more than the 2015 in vw’s chart. lol.

i’m in the exact same boat as you. our only hope is where it says”2015 values are approximate”. maybe they’ll go up? yeah, not counting on it.

hold on a second. i thought the minimum cash compensation was $5,100. that means the value of the car last september was ~$18,486. My car depreciated $5,000 in four months before the scandal even broke? guess i just got ripped off huh?

this directly contradicts the article on vwvortex. assuming all this info is correct though, it looks like 2015 owners are screwed. i bought a Golf TDI S last may for $23,452, before tax, interest on the loan, and the 3 year service package ($895, do i get that back too?). After sales tax and interest and a
