Haha, yeah. I didn't get it until oldmangraff mentioned it.
I read the first one. It was enjoyable, but it took me forever, and there are 13 more books of at least that length. I guess I could read them between seasons if the show actually happens.
She seriously needs her own show.
It was a long read, and he did go pretty hard, but… at the end of the day he is absolutely correct. Shit like "Dear Future Husband" is offensive on every level; it is an assault against taste and culture. And if the A.V. Club can't call that out in the most vitriolic and justified way possible, then who will? Part of…
Man, Blurst was the shit.
Open your heart, Alien Jesus. We've all felt the way that normal kid is feeling. Except… well I suppose being an alien and being Jesus sort of puts you outside of the normal range of human experience and emotion.
Right. But you're not going to get that Lady Justice is the one doing the shooting on the first listen. The first listen doesn't reveal that this is a capital 'C' Concept Album. The first listen reveals that the hooks are sweet and the beats are eminently vibe-able. Like I said, I think there is a lot more here than…
A job, internet.
I would say the straightforward production is a virtue here. These beats and time signatures are still more complex than most stuff out there, but they hit so much harder than TPAB because they're stripped down. DAMN. is a master returning to form, bringing all the lessons of GKMC and TPAB to bear.
Absolutely. I think there's just a lot less on the surface (just dope beats and killer hooks). TPAB was conceptual in both lyrics and production, and I think DAMN. took the lessons learned from that, and gave them a much more palatable package. So on the first listen, all you hear are dope beats and killer hooks, but…
But that's just it. Win It All was a Netflix Original. At some point, you are absolutely right; Netflix will shed the image of a streaming service and settle into being content creators. But for every Adam Sandler movie they make, they make a Joe Swanberg movie, or films like The Discovery, Beasts of No Nation,…
Usually at least $15-$18 CAD in Vancouver. It isn't that Netflix is doing theaters any favours, but in Canada, Cineplex owns about 80% of the theater industry, giving them a virtual monopoly and allowing them to drive up prices without check. It also means that distribution is mostly handled by a company that has no…
I like it. If only because the jedi order has a really, really unhealthy focus on suppressing emotions.
Theory time: Luke decides to end the Jedi order not because Kylo turned to the dark side, but because he is tempted by the dark side himself. He isolates himself on that island, with no means of escape, because he is such a danger to the galaxy.
This comment… went in a really strange direction. But I agree. And Tessa Thompson deserves to be in more movies in general.
I haven't read that run, but i looked it up, after being confused by your comment. Even without a great deal of context, that moment is truly magnificent.
