Actually, part of the Executive Order was to identify and help persecuted religious minority groups in these countries. There is a history to this (including our own country’s founding) if you check out some history on it, it’s fairly common.

1. This isn’t a Muslim ban. These countries were selected as failed states that have large ISIS activity as part of Obama’s 2015 Terror Prevention Act. The largest Muslim countries in the world were not on the list.
