Race isn’t fluid.
Race isn’t fluid.
It’s kind of a matter of nature vs nurture?
it’s very simple. race is hereditary; gender isn’t.
I have no idea if Juno is a troll or just a helplessly clueless white woman. Like, I couldn’t even make a guess at this point.
Whenever a white person does something remotely decent related to black people or black culture—be it displaying…
I really think the retro and nostalgia thing is making people think there’s more here than there really is.
Or Vanessa - she’s one of my SNL favorites! I lost it at “What about my hungry boys?”
I love it when somebody gives me an excuse to post this.
My ex was emotionally abusive and always accusing me of cheating and always calling women in general “whores.” I never cheated but he cheated on me all the time. I know this kind of hatred toward women very well even though his behavior is wildly irrational and completely mind boggling.
She had literally blank to work with, so I’m not surprised. I’m not a pro, but the worst work I ever did acting was because the character I was trying to work with was so badly drawn I couldn’t find what made her tick. Bella isn’t just horribly written, she’s a blank space for an unsophisticated reader to project…
yeah... either that or occasionally looking like shit off-duty is a kind of emotional antidote to being continually submerged in the film industry’s hyper-focus on appearance.
I always hated when people said her acting was stiff. To me her emotional range has actual nuance, as opposed to most actors who overanimate their expressions. You see male actors get praised for a similar style (Kit Harrington comes to mind).
It’s the same reason she gets booed at Cannes. People hear her name and they have to cling desperately to the super special exclusive tragically ironic film herd so they boo cos everyone else is booing, but no one really knows why.
Right? I bet most of the commenters on this website are somewhat guarded types. I know I am. Will never understand the vitriol she gets for just not being sunny/smiley.
Have you seen her in her smaller budget movies? Like in cloud of sils maria. She has a very guarded expression, but she is not blank.
Absolutely, she is extremely in command of her craft. You can see it in early films like Panic Room and Undertow (<- underrated, amazing film). Her choices since Twilight have been really exciting. She is very successfully transitioning into adult, film actress. I really can’t wait to see where she goes from here.
I feel like Kristen Stewart is about to be the next woman Jezebel adopts as their “new BFF” before ultimately turning on her for being too something.
The further we get beyond Twilight, the more I firmly believe Kristen Stewart chose to play Bella as blankly as possible.
Please, let's not call this "rape." I'm sure that birth can sometimes be traumatic, but calling it "rape" does a real disservice to survivors.
