    Not just un-insured, but not even in the country legally. Over the years living here in the Houston area we have gotten rear-ended twice, both by someone in the country illegally, no id, no insurance, etc. The police just shrugged. No consequences for them, and all our insurance rates go up as a result.

    However... it is pretty amazing that hitting a stationary fire truck when doing 60mph only resulted in a broken ankle. It is pretty incredible how far crash protection has improved.
