This is the same guy who writes about having an emotional affair with an older married woman at work. Different story, different burner, same writing. It's either a weird writing exercise or a kink.

I know several people who work at the VA and they’re actually pretty cool.  He’s right that the system and red tape and bullshit sucks but the people there are (a lot of them) former military too and know exactly what its like to be in his position.  Mostly they want to help as much as they can.  Maybe you can start

Welcome to Donny Two Scoops’ AmeriKKKa.

Now wait a minute. Are you trying to tell me that a guy who looks like Lurch from the Addams Family, who runs a business in a field known for fraud and preying upon the weak and stupid, whose only TV appearances outside of a B List celebrity cameo are paid infomercials... are you trying to tell us he might not be

“dessert dust”

This guy is a total sleaze. You can feel it oozing off of him just in a picture. It always tells me so much about a person when they cite him as any kind of influence at all.

Shocking. All "self-improvement gurus" are frauds and cultists. That's it. There is no secret to living a better life, buy doctors might able to help, not some dude with a cinderblock chin and Rasputin's eyes.

I mean, how else am I going to pay off this PhD in Literature?

Landmark is totally a cult!

At some point EST was renamed Landmark. A coworker said Landmark had changed her life for the better, so I went to a meeting. It was a packed room, with a speaker who did a brief “there’s what you know, what you don’t know, and what you don’t know you know” and then various people stood up to say that Landmark changed

anyone who “follows” an “influencer” deserves what they get.

There used to be a guy in the 70's named Werner Erhard who ran these seminars called “EST”.  Can’t remember what they stood for, but from what I read, they basically involved a bunch of people sitting in a hotel ballroom with this guy Erhard yelling at them about how they were worthless and denying them bathroom

I actually went to something similar back in 2005, but it’s because my boss signed me up for it. He billed it as a leadership conference. When I got there, I lasted an hour before I got the hell out of Dodge. I am pretty sure it was a cult. If it wasn’t, it was just plain weird (Landmark Forum).

Stupid foible about this comment that annoyed me is the misspelling phoible.

The delusions of grandeur in the state of Ohio when it comes to Ohio State are something to behold.

He just took the standard televangelist schtick and removed the Christian metaphors, but added self-help psychobabble.   If you aren’t creeped out by him you should be.

OSU Medical Director/Head Team Physician John Lombardo wrote in a letter that “her concerns are based on rumors which have been generated for 10 years with no foundation.”

I’m surprised it’s taken this long for this stuff to come out, to be honest.

I read the Buzzfeed article. All of that is standard cult shit.
