It’s because it was related to the campaign. If AMI or Cohen paid to hush this stuff up, it’s a gift in kind to the campaign. There are limits individuals and corporations can contribute to a campaign. It would also have to be reported (I’m pretty sure... US campaign finance laws are wack).

I would love an actual legal type person to step in here, but I’ve read two articles that said the judge had ruled certain pieces of evidence didn’t count as privileged because acting as a fixer is not acting as lawyer.
