The Volt back seat was too small. The Prius had a roomy back seat.

Two wipers at the same time, man.

The Chevy Volt - it should have been a game changer - one of the first PHEVs with real useable electric range (I recall that even the first generation from 2010 had an all electric range of about 30 miles that equals a lot of PHEVs today).

Carbon neutral ocean liners you say?

All luxury SUVs. They’re roomy, comfortable, luxurious, perform like [insert name of maker’s iconic sports car here]. They’re also built to a ridiculously high price point, weigh 5,000lbs and should be that good. But they’re completely lacking in beauty and grace. There’s no art to it.

I will throw the 4 runner in there too. Absurdly ugly, terrible ride quality, underpowered. Only real advantage is lack of depreciation, which is only the case because of the odd cult following.

Telluride

Tacoma: Slow, underpowered, tiny payload, ancient design, poor fuel economy, and outrageous prices.

a couple years later this shows up. Coincidence? I think not.

Yeah, the pending comments don’t always show up anymore. I long for the good old days of about six months ago where clicking on the “this post” link in notifications would load the page in a way that took you straight to your comment. Now it’s often too much of a bother to reply to a reply.

Slightly off-topic. I wonder why Toyota chose to develop the Supra as a platform mate to the BMW Z4. One would think that the Lexus RC N platform would have been an obvious choice. The Supra isn’t a bad car, but it just doesn’t make sense to me that a halo car for the brand shares it bones and power with a car that

When I started doing track days in 1990, Corvettes made 245hp. There were more powerful cars, but they weren’t common, so if you wanted more, you had to spend a good amount of money to go get it aftermarket. Typically, this was only after you’d had a few years under your belt, to discover you liked this hobby.

Long ago I took to heart the words of the great Jackie Stewart who said, “good driving, for me, is smooth driving.” The key to making a car go fast, or last a long time, or get good economy, is doing nothing in an upsetting fashion.

It definitely does not look like a luxury EV.

if you think any modern car is underpowered you probably need to up your driving skills

I don’t agree on it being “striking-looking”. The overall shape reminds me of Tesla Model Y. Also, there is nothing noticeable enough, at a distance, to make it stand out from a bunch of regular old crossovers.  The interior looks great though.

Genesis has been really coming up with some very nice looking cars. This on the other hand...did they give it to the new kid to draw?

What is it up with you guys and trying to force the narrative that these new Hyundais are so good looking? I mean, some are, but I’ve literally never seen so many articles about a brand and how good looking all of their new vehicles are.  Are they paying you guys?

No, IOC just has more greed and less concern for human suffering.

In such a busy city, how does one not notice the cacophany of noise coming through an open door and think the car is a bit louder than it should be while in motion?
