There was a book written about the lawsuit; I ordered it but haven’t gotten it yet. So, I can not say with certainty that yes that is what happened. I do know Eleanor Holmes Norton was a WOC and represented the women in their lawsuit.

Yeah. But I didn’t read it as Joy Bryant (who is playing Eleanor Holmes Norton) encouraging another black woman to support a white women’s cause, but to support a cause that white women were a part of, and of course dominating in the racist social/cultural/political milieu of the late sixties/early seventies. She was

It’s based on true events and set in 1969. That’s pretty much what happened. You can dislike that, but to dismiss it out of hand is ridiculous. It was a good show and really relevant still, unfortunately.

Not to mention, the reliability of Prime shipping is way down now that they’ve started contracting drivers instead of using USPS.

I agree; I especially liked that unlike Mad Men, the characters are not miserable and nasty to each other. You really get to see how privilege works, even amongst well-meaning people. Even the straight up misogynists are not intrinsically evil, it’s more that they don’t get it, resist change in general, or see women

I’ve really had it up to here with this year. I love this show. And it was really kind of cathartic to binge watch it recently with everything going on. Sad to see how much hasn’t changed, but inspiring to see women working for equal rights. I just feel like we really need something like this now as inspiration, but

Amazon is really shooting itself in the foot with this cancellation. Their only good shows are Transparent which is shooting its 4th season, Catastrophe, One Mississippi and Man in the High Castle and that’s not enough to keep the service especially if you don’t have a Kindle device to take advantage of the free books

I resisted watching it for a while but started last week. Now I’m nearly done and I’ve really loved it. Very disappointed to hear this. I really enjoyed the cast and after an episode or two I forgot about Mad Men comparison (with the exception of the Don Draper-like magazine owner).

Frankly, I applaud her being upfront about them. This is what we need to be upfront and talking about if we’re ever going to stop stigmatizing mental health issues. And “invisible” diseases like Lupus. Which is no joke and sucks hard and good for her for dealing with it. I’m sorry it bothers you, but I’d rather see a

Landlines, Megan. I held out against cell phones as long as I could, I hate the idea of being obligated/expected to always answer or at least text back. I miss being unencumbered. I do love the portable internet, library, camera, video.camera and mp3 though.

Gingrich, fuck. This is how they’ve been rolling since HUAC. “If you’re so trustworthy, how come you’ve been investigated so many times?”

Oh my god, if this dude would have pulled out a gun and told Watters to get off of his property, that would have been the best thing I’ve ever seen. There’s at least a 48% chance that Watters would’ve pissed himself.

Given that Fox is a big supporter of the 2nd amendment, it would behoove them to think twice about harassing folks at home.

Watters: Don’t you realize the whole country’s laughing at you right now?

Thank god that man had a gun to defend himself from the other man who was apologizing. Things might have gotten out of hand.

Does this surprise literally anyone?

I had to go elsewhere to find out what he said that was so controversial. Hold on to your butts:

Shot in the middle of an intersection in broad fucking daylight while trying to apologize. This is a scary country we live in.

This is the society we keep opting for. The society we keep promoting through our choice of elected officials.
