I don't recall anywhere in the post saying "why buy a NEW FR-S" just an FR-S.
The Scion will be more reliable, cheaper to repair, and come with a warranty negating the cost of most repairs in the first three years or 36,000 miles.
You can't OWN it for less. You can BUY it for less. Big freaking difference. Once something goes wrong on that car kiss your vacation fund goodbye.
But when you die you can say you drove really affordable and boring cars...I live my life one lease payment at a time. :D
I think the best point you make is the comparison to renting an apartment. I wonder how many people here on jalopnik are perfectly fine with renting their home yet ssay leasing a car is the worst mistake someone can make.
After each throw, they discussed ball air pressure with their crew chiefs.
This'll be out of my price range so my excitement stems only from a potential price drop on the STs that may become slightly more difficult to sell.
Probably by marking up every VW product at least $3,000 more than a comparable American car.
There once was a Mazda in Texas
You're right. I'll take my money somewhere they have REAL styling innovation. Like Porsche!
Well the market said it was asking too much. At the time, people wanted the hybrid to stand out. Times change though. Since Tesla is actually 'cool' now perhaps your hopes (and mine frankly) will become a reality.
Or at least just an EV that doesn't look like total ass. It doesn't have to look like a normal ICE car, but it shouldn't be something I'd be embarrassed to be seen driving.
Does it matter if we agree or not? We don't know jack about how to deploy air forces over a continent for NATO defense efforts. Who cares what we think? We won't be informed in any reasonable way.
"we've stuck to our roots and have made our 4.0 v6 even better while sacrificing fuel economy and not upping performance. We also received all your letters asking for a small diesel and we have answered. Fuck you"
Playing with the big boys is tough, hopefully in the long run they'll get on the same percieved level as the big German three. The only problem is that long term thinking is not a strength of GM...
Oh, this is gonna be so awesome when it hits Facebook, and all the gullibles start sharing the hell out of it...."CNN SAYS WORLD WILL END! LET'S HIT A MILLION SHARES BEFORE IT DOES!"
Can we have a Jalopnik insider Bazzaro agreement? You guys put out articles that berate our favorite cars and tell the public why they suck, why you shouldn't buy one, and why you'll die if you look at them.
So, I guess a 20-minute delay on doing the right thing is better than nothing.
And yet there's a kid driving a rusty RHD 1970s Mini around my campus as we speak. It's been missing an exhaust for years and is currently running on bald tires. But it's okay, those are safe.
Airbags, a lower emission engine, and a rust-free frame on a newer Mini? Dangerous. Must destroy.
You know what might be cool…
