I think Jessica is trying to say that taking away some of Amy's internal dialogue was misogynistic, but I think that trying to make Amy or Nick more than "psychopath" and "sociopath" is doing discredit to the characters, or trying to "explain away" the condition.

The catch-22 with Gone Girl is that its refreshing to people like me to see a female character that isn't likeable and still utterly compelling.
