‘Blue is the Warmest Color’ showed some true filmmaking craft and empathy. It also made the biggest blunder I can recall in recent memory. The film is a sensual and slow examination of these two women, down to how they eat, flirt, and discover each other. So when it comes time for our main character Adele’s first

I would absolutely love to see him in a serious role with Paul Thomas Anderson at the helm. It seems too perfect.

I’m fine with Hader doing this TV thing. He could be like Danny McBride, keep doing limited run TV series that are each interesting and unique. TV isn’t a bad thing to be “stuck” doing.

“It paid for the Mapplethorpe in the mailroom” in regard to the ten seasons of Prison Teens hit me like a line drive to the chest. All the scenes at Gersh were wildly over-the-top satire, but you can tell they were also written by people who know how completely trashy and artless the inner workings of Hollywood really

I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, but Barry savaging the genre which ruthlessly exploits the abuse and assault of women by passing their pain off as “she’s so crazy and wild and...um...GIRL POWER!!!” when they air IMMEDIATELY after Game of Thrones...it is just perfect.

The fact that there’s really no good move for Barry in this situation leaves this cliffhanger so damn tense.

Man, that was a really good twist! I really thought Fuches was going to get Barry arrested and turn Gene against him; definitely didn’t Fuches framing Gene and killing him.

Nooooo. Not Gene! Anyone but Gene!!!! My soul is crying.

Sally’s single-shot rant was amazing to watch. Sarah Goldberg has always been great in this show, so it was nice that they gave her that moment to take it to the next level. This whole episode was an emotional roller coaster, and I’ve never been more frustrated that it’s only half an hour long.

Especially since Dr Manhattan was practically a god and Rorschach was a known associate of his. It would be like having one of Jesus’s Disciples diaries. Come to think of it, there’s probably a Church of Manhattan by this point.

Against my better judgement. I’m liking the idea of a modern post-Watchman filled with Rorschach cultists.

“Watchmen is a comic book.”

Did you not see the weird vigilante cult of Rorschach?! Remember he put his diary out there and I am guessing the cops are wearing masks because of that and we saw a few new heroes and of course Adrian.

Really?! I had the exact opposite reaction.

No?

How can you tell? It gives you almost nothing.

this looks SOOOOOOO much like the Leftovers, which is exactly what i wanted from this show. if it’s even half as good as the last two seasons of that show it’s gonna be one of the highlights of the year.

I think what makes me hopeful about this Watchmen series, is that it isn’t a straight up adaptation of the comic series. Besides already seeing all those story beats, more or less, in the movie, this has a better chance to be good as it’s own thing.

Irons putting out some serious Ozymandias vibes with that meditation shot.

Yes it is. This is a classic Curb ep. No question.
