Completely agree with you. I have a first Gen Fit (sport, 5MT) and i came here to post this. It is great fun to drive, and always ‘eager’ to have a little fun. It can catch out a lot of 3-series drivers on off-ramps.

there is at least one in Toronto. I rode in it last summer. body roll for days, but waaaaay too fun to be legal. same experience as driving a YJ without doors, but you're a foot off the ground in a straight line and 6" off the ground around a corner. the most fun you will have at 40 kph.
